About Me

Hi, my name is Peter! With over 11 years of experience in art direction, branding, and UX/UI design, I am a creative strategist and designer who helps organizations communicate their stories and engage their audiences. I currently work as a Marketing Analyst/Senior Graphic Designer at Pierce Transit, where I develop and execute creative campaigns for different divisions and departments, design and produce branding graphics for the agency, and collaborate with various stakeholders to meet their specific and general design needs.

I also run my own freelance business, where I offer design solutions for clients' needs, from ideation to launch. I use Design Thinking as an effective and efficient design process to inform my decisions. I write copy that focuses on user needs, prototype custom, mobile-responsive Wordpress websites, and develop brand systems and design sets. My mission is to share clear, compelling stories through art direction, branding, and UX/UI design.

What My Days Normally Look Like

WORK

Establishing Empathy: Whether with a diverse team or solo, I always start by trying to understand the problem as defined by research, business requirements, and user needs. Understanding this helps to define the ideal and set project goals.

Designing Solutions: Utilizing everything above, I begin ideating then sketch out rough concepts. Next, I apply visual design with the use of either existing or created style guides. I primarily use Adobe Suite and Figma.

Delivering Results: Presenting to stakeholders, I funnel design through testing and iteration, before getting final approval.

PLAY
Mornings: Getting up before everyone with a piping hot cup of coffee is my favorite way to start the day. It sets the tone for everything else to follow.

Weeknights: Playing pickleball with friends (sorry if you’re into tennis and we’re taking your court) then making our way to our favorite brewery is a go to. A solid alternative is taking my dog for a run by the water, eating a healthy meal, then reading a few chapters of my latest book before bed.

Weekends: Going to the beach, camping, exploring, checking out the latest eateries, volunteering, or paddle boarding.

Skills and Proficiencies

I am very comfortable in the worlds of print and digital design. I love being involved in the strategy and ideation parts of the process and regularly take a project to completion with visual design and stakeholder presentations.
